Dear NIADA Artist Members,
The NIADA Academy Planning team has been working very hard, and is proud to announce that the Academy site went live in January, 2021, and our courses are selling. Check it out at www.academy.niada.org where you can see how our online teaching looks and works.
All Artist Members in good standing are eligible to create and sell courses. If you are interested in teaching through our Academy, please read the following steps over carefully, plan the course you would like to teach, and then send us your Course Content.
Archive and LEGACY COURSES
If any current Artist Members have older class content, videos, tapes, or DVDs that are still relevant and might have value for students, please consider working with the Academy to reformat content, if need be, and make them into online Archive Courses that can benefit today’s students and potentially be a revenue stream for you. Deceased members can also have Legacy Courses on the Academy, managed by heirs or given to NIADA for our management.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

CREATING A NIADA ACADEMY COURSE – SEQUENCE OF STEPS
ACADEMY USER ROLES: Site Admins = have full access to the Academy website. Course Admins = Instructors are limited to their Course area
STEP 1 – Plan your Course
- Review the checklist at the end of the page. This will help you clarify your course idea, and communicate your intentions to the Academy. You are not expected to have exact answers before your course is completed, but the checklist is designed to help you organize the things you should be thinking about as you create your course.
- If you have any questions about specifications, compatibility, and quality of the content (videos, PDFs, etc.) you can check for help on our teaching platform, www.thinkific.com or watch discussions and tutorials on our NIADA Academy private Facebook group or ask a member of the Academy Planning Team for help. For content descriptions and specifications of things that need to be submitted, access the Course Content form. www.niada.org/academy/course-content password: teacher
STEP 2 – Create your Course
- When you are ready to create your course fill out the Course Content form and submit materials that you want to appear on your Course Landing Page (the sales page) to the Site Administrator. Refer to the information on the Course Content webpage.
- You will be assigned a Course Admin account and password (by the Site Administrator, Chris Chomick) to use to create your course and load its materials on the NIADA Academy site academy.niada.org. At this time you will receive instructions on how to create your Instructor Profile.
- When logged into your assigned Course Admin account, click on + NEW COURSE and load your materials and create your course settings. The Site Admin can set up your Course Landing page while you are working on your course.
- The Academy’s Course Admin accounts are shared among other instructors. Please LOG OUT of the Course Admin account when you finish working on your course.
IMPORTANT!!
NEVER CLICK ON OTHER INSTRUCTORS’ COURSES WHEN LOGGED INTO A COURSE ADMIN ACCOUNT!
NEVER MODIFY OR DELETE ANY OTHER INSTRUCTOR’S CONTENT!
PLEASE WORK ONLY WITHIN YOUR OWN COURSE TO PREVENT ANY ACCIDENTAL CORRUPTION OR DELETION OF EXISTING COURSES.
STEP 3 – Publish your Course
- When the loading of your course is completed, click on PUBLISH, and it will automatically be sent to the Site Administrator for public release or final suggestions from the Review Panel. NOTE: Your Course will not be published until you have submitted your Course Content materials to the Site Administrator via the Course Content form.
- Promote the NIADA Academy and your own Courses as widely as you can.
